Celebrating Life

Last October my family said our last goodbyes to Krista Maffia, one of the strongest people we had ever met. We celebrate her life, and all that she stood for and  we celebrate our survivors, Kristian and Jack, at this year's  Relay for Life.

At midnight almost all of Newberg gathered together and let lanterns fill the sky. 

It was truly magical!

 A couple of weeks ago I met up with my Senior Model's 

and snapped a couple photograph's for their rep cards (:

We had so much fun shooting in the sunshine, and exploring new locations, and 

I cannot wait to shoot their full sessions later this summer!

Audrea's Baptism

Sunday morning I rushed over to Newberg Christian Church to watch my sweet little sister commit her life to Christ publicly by my mum and my dad. 

I can not think of a better way to spend my Sunday morning, 

then to capture such an important moment for my sister. 

I couldn't be more proud of her!

Charlie Turns 9 months!

On Sunday I got spend some time with this fun family out in the sunshine for Charlie's 9 months!

We had so much fun and Charlie was just so cute!

The Senior Models for the class of 2013!

I am both honored and excited to announce my Senior Guy & Girl Representatives for the class of 2013!

Pursuing the Light

 Thursday, the 19th, I had the privilege to travel down to Leavenworth, WA to spend the weekend with 15 very talented young women and our group leaders, Katie Campbell and Kristin Wall. 

On the last night, near tears I tried to explain just what that weekend meant to me, but I couldn't speak. 

So I thought, what better way than to write a letter. (: 

Dear Katie, Kristin, Emily Wall, Meg, Kenzie, Alora, Kyla, Haley, Claire, Emily Livingston, Morgan, Kristina, Lauren, Charissa, Corrin, Ashley, Izzi,

I had such an amazing time getting to know each and every one of you! I loved watching as you used the talents that God gave you, learning and teaching each other, becoming a community of followers and sisters. I miss each and everyone of you so much!

I entered the retreat feeling completely alone and misunderstood. I had no idea what to expect, or how I would go about living with complete strangers for a whole three days! I don't know how much time I had spent leading up to the retreat just crying. I needed desperately to be understood by someone my own age. I needed a change, and that's what God gave me.  

I want to tell you girls that you made me feel understood. You made me feel accepted, and loved. You knew what I meant by 'Depth of Field' and you knew what Lightroom was!  I loved sitting at the breakfast table and talking f-stops and D.O.F with you guys. Talking about lighting and reflectors and external flash settings. I believe we all realized how geeky we all are ;) haha I miss it! 

I want to let you all know that you guys taught me new ways to look at life. As artists we are all given a kaleidoscope view on life, a way to see the hearts of humanity in a special way. Surrounded by so many artist, I got a chance to look at life through 17+ different lenses. That is an experience I will treasure for ever.

I know that every single one of you were there for a reason, and that reason is becoming clearer and deeper every day! I can't wait till we all sit in the same room again, praising our Lord and Savior, tossing ideas off each other, and eating some more of that yummy home made bread!

Grace: A stylized Modeling Session

For the end of spring break, my cousin came to stay a few nights.

Like we always do on break, we woke up at the crack of noon, 

ate some mini-wheat's and maybe a cookie or two...

And then it was time to get ready for our trip out to the woods! 

She let me do all sorts of crazy things with her hair and make up,

and even tried on the 50 outfits we decided didn't work.

Can I just say she is awesome?
